6.7ct Sunstone (Oregon, USA) - Cushion Profile, performance cut in a new diamond pixel design. Inspired by the popular opposed bar design (aka "pixel cut"), my aim was to create a similar effect but with rhombus/ diamond shaped pixels instead of the traditional squares/ rectangles.
 
The crystal this gem was cut from had a red center with champagne color around the outside. Sunstone is not a color change mineral, but this gem has a lot of personality in different lighting conditions. Please take note of all photos for the fullest representation of them gem. These photos were all taken on the same day, same time, with the same camera. The only difference is the lighting conditions.
